4/7 Assignment: Interview Packets

Write a post summarizing the two interviews. According to the interviews, what was life like for African-Americans in Alabama during the '30's? What about for whites?

  1. The main idea of the two interviews was that the whites had a much more care-free life than the Africa-Americans. The people interviewed were ment to be typical women of that time period. The African-American women interviewed basically said that she had a rough time, but she didnt complain much. Even today she still respects white people although they mistreated her. She understood that not all white people were the same. The lives of the whites were much more carefree as they stayed. They had their own cooks and nurses at their homes. They didn't have many worries of their own. Many of the childrens parents were involved with helping black children so they came in contact with them oftenly. Some of them made friends with the African-American children. Life was a lot more simple for the whites.
